1/23/2024 0 Comments Pokemon snap 2 archepelegeo![]() ![]() New Pokémon Snap gracefully avoids Pokémon Snap's problem of repeating the exact same courses ad infinitum in several ways. ![]() It's easy to view being on-rails as a limitation, but in New Pokémon Snap it's apparent that keeping your own interactions with the world a bit more limited than in something like a typical Pokémon RPG has freed Bandai Namco up to make the many different things the Pokémon themselves do far more varied, detailed, and enjoyable to watch. Most of the Pokémon manage to look very good without melting your Switch in your hands though, and for the most part will react in interesting ways to just about anything you (literally or figuratively) throw at them, be it fruit, glowing Illumina Orbs, or a catchy tune. Try one on the Tangrowth at the start of the Park course at night for one of my favorite examples, and have your camera ready the second it hits. A handful of Pokémon will have huge, surprising reactions to being hit. A lot of Pokémon won't really react to being hit with these orbs beyond glowing, but don't get discouraged. Their most obvious use is to activate crystabloom flowers that can attract Pokémon or even trigger changes in a course, you can also just throw them right at Pokémon to make them glow. You'll find plenty of use for all of these, but of the entire toolkit the illumina orbs are perhaps the most surprising. ![]() You'll start your photo expedition with nothing but your camera, but you'll quickly unlock a set of tools that will enable you to take better photos: edible fluffruit, glowing illumina orbs, a music player, a scanning feature that will sometimes spark unique reactions, and an accelerator that you can use to catch up with fast Pokémon. ![]() These are most noticeable in one stage in particular, when an absolutely massive Wailord slowly breaches the ocean surface and briefly slows everything to a crawl. You'll visit a sparkling beach, a dense jungle, a desert, underwater caverns, and several more locations, all of which look better than I've seen any Pokémon game look yet – beauty which comes at the cost of some occasional frustrating framerate dips when it pushes the Switch beyond its comfort zone. New Pokémon Snap also has far more story to drive it along, with a Pokémon professor named Mirror and his crew of research assistants trying to solve yet another Pokémon mystery, though overall it’s a fairly forgettable progression tool. It even has more (in a sense) of what made old-school Pokémon Snap's final course, Rainbow Cloud, so special – though I can't say more about it here due to Nintendo being overly precious about that part. But I am happy to report this was a non-issue: If "Pokémon Snap, but more" were the baseline for New Pokémon Snap being any good, it would handily clear that simple bar with far more courses, available Pokémon, and possible photos than its decades-old parent managed. If "Pokémon Snap, but more" were the baseline for New Pokémon Snap being any good, it would handily clear that simple bar.22 years later, I had a real fear that New Pokémon Snap would end up similarly repetitive or limited in either sheer Pokémon numbers or in course availability. Even with the meat of trying to solve a few puzzles to line up some rarer shots, 1999's Pokémon Snap inevitably left me wishing for so much more. Though the idea was sound and many of Pokémon Snap's best moments are still memorable to this day (the Jigglypuff concert! Charizard popping out of the lava pool! Surfing Pikachu!), it was painfully short, with only just over 60 Pokémon available across seven courses that were precisely the same every single time. The classic on-rails photography game had a very fun premise, sending you on a nature safari to try and get the best photos possible of Pokémon living and interacting in their natural habitats. Despite its flaws, I was a big fan of the original Pokémon Snap on Nintendo 64 back in 1999. ![]()

1/23/2024 0 Comments Grooming process online predators![]() ![]() The absence of a parent, which might not be physical but emotional, makes the victim more vulnerable and lowers the risk of the abuser getting caught. “Are you close to your parents? Are they home right now?” The abusers tend to choose children whose parents are not present in the child’s life. By these acts of “kindness”, the abusers hope to create a bond in which they hold dominance and thus can quickly pressure the victim into risky activities.įrom the beginning, predators often ask their victims about their family relations. They often take an interest in their victims’ fears and triggers – and when the targeted kid becomes emotionally fragile, they act as responsible adults, listen to their worries, and calm the child down. Predators also use friendly behaviour to establish their dominance. This makes the criminals seem harmless and trustworthy in the child’s eyes. They turn themselves into child-like figures. Predators often use mirroring methods: they talk about innocent topics, discuss current trends, behave naïve, etc. However, this apparent amiability covers a whole range of manipulative techniques. ![]() The groomer agrees with everything the targeted child says and is interested in all the victim’s hobbies. A typical sign of predatory behaviour is extreme interest and praise. In the first stages of communication, they commonly use kindness to get the victim’s trust. They aim to establish a lasting relationship from which they can continually benefit. The second type is considered more dangerous these are the groomers. If the kid ignores their attempts, they proceed to another victim. Some criminals immediately bring up matters of an erotic nature and ask for sexual services from the targeted child. When a predator approaches its victim, the communication follows one of two patterns. An online sexual abuser often takes on the role of a potential “teacher” or a helper, a new friend who makes the targeted kid feel attractive, validated, and appreciated. Still, even though these groups are the most commonly targeted, the grave issue of online grooming involves all kids – a predator may approach any child. Predators frequently target young girls and boys since queer children may view the internet as a safe space to express their struggles. On the internet, criminals may use their age as a tool to establish dominance, but they may also try to blend in with the children by creating fake accounts that imitate the victim’s age group. Online predators often use websites that enable them to determine the victims’ age and initiate communication quickly, such as online chats and social media. Keep your children safe when they’re meeting people online Read more: Coercion, trolling, and abuse. In 2021, the foundation “confirmed 252,000 URLs containing images or videos of children being sexually abused, compared with 153,000 in the previous year.” The IWF further explained that a significant part of the material comes from situations where “children are manipulated into recording their abuse before it is shared online – with the fastest-growing increase occurring among seven to 10-year-olds.” So, how can you and your child recognise an online predator? Get familiar with the process of communication that is typical for grooming. According to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), the pandemic worsens this problem. It is a lasting danger that affects teenagers but younger children primarily as well. Grooming is a tactic used by online sexual abusers who scout for victims online. ![]() 1/23/2024 0 Comments Rimworld devilstrand vs leather![]() ![]() This means that you never have the problem of being completely out of clothes. Lord Umber’s contribution in this battle is essential to Ramsay’s strategy, yet his support is dependent not on respect or loyalty but on the pragmatic gains in power he can make by helping the Boltons crush the Starks. Remember what Lord Umber did when he decided to support Ramsay back in “Oathbreaker”? He refused to kneel or swear an oath of fealty, but he turned over Rickon and Osha because he knew that the power dynamics in the North were changing and it was time to side with the Boltons. Once Jon’s forces are out of position, Ramsay sends in Smalljon Umber’s soldiers to surround and crush them with their massive shields. In terms of loyalty, however, what is clear is that one leader sees his men as expendable, while the other respects his men and refuses to throw away their lives. Pragmatically, Davos’ side has fewer forces and can’t afford to lose any men, whereas Ramsay’s superior numbers mean that he can sacrifice these men. Ramsay, of course, pays no heed to the safety of his men, and tells his forces to loose their arrows. Ser Davos prepares to launch arrows, only to hold back from firing on his own troops. ![]() The two models of authority come out most clearly in the middle of the battle, after the two cavalry forces have engaged one another. Loyalty, in this case, becomes an easy weakness to manipulate, not a strength. To that, he adds his own unique brand of sadism, cruel violence, and psychological manipulation, which he brilliantly displays when he takes advantage of Jon’s loyalty to family by using Rickon to lure Jon and his army out of position. Inherited from his father, Roose, is a thirst for power, mixed with a cold pragmatism. ![]() On the other side is Ramsay, who represents a different model of authority. Quite fitting, for a Father’s Day episode. Jon’s understanding of authority and loyalty extends from an idea of mutual respect between leaders and followers–an honorable concept that links him back to his father, Lord Stark. But he probably also remembers that Ser Aliser Thorne and the other members of the Night’s Watch became disloyal in the first place because he did not, in their eyes, “fight for them.” He literally gave his life because he decided to help the Wildlings escape across the Wall, and in return, he receives unwavering support from Tormund. Then, Jon asks essentially the same question which Grey Worm had asked earlier: “Will your men want to fight for you, when they hear you wouldn’t fight for them?” He tries to point out, basically, that Ramsay is not worthy of loyalty because he offers nothing in return to his men.Īs a leader, Jon has had first-hand experience with the reciprocal nature of loyalty. This is the same way in which Jon Snow attempts to undermine Ramsay’s authority: he challenges him to a one-on-one duel, which Ramsay of course refuses. Why should these soldiers follow masters who have never done anything for them? By pointing out that their power is not based on a reciprocal arrangement, Grey Worm is able to quickly and easily undermine the authority of the Masters. Loyalty, then, functions only when both leaders and followers receive something from the other. ![]() The reciprocal nature of loyalty is best encapsulated when Grey Worm asks the soldiers of the Masters to make a choice: “Fight and die for Masters who would never fight and die for you, or go home to your families.” The men instantly drop their weapons and leave. The following post contains spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 6, Episode 9, “Battle of the Bastards.” It depends on a reciprocal, two-way relationship. ![]() The main idea was that loyalty, more often than not, requires both parties–the followers and the leaders/authority figures–to bring something of benefit to the table. Beneath the exciting bloodbath of it all was a fascinating examination of loyalty and authority. It gave us, in many ways, exactly what we hoped, feared, and expected from Game of Thrones. Unlike the previous episode, which was filled with anticlimactic resolutions, “Battle of the Bastards” was a wild, thrilling ride that brought us to an immensely satisfying conclusion. ![]() 1/22/2024 0 Comments Lesbian flag purple![]() ![]() Femininity, symbolised by the colour dark pink.Love and sex, symbolised by the colour pastel pink.Serenity and peace, symbolised by the colour pink. ![]() Unique relationships to womanhood, symbolised by the colour white.Community, symbolised by the colour light orange.Independence, symbolised by the colour coral orange.Gender nonconformity, symbolised by the colour dark orange. What do the colours mean on the lesbian flag? Characteristic of his work is a hushed and nearly melancholic reverie amidst pastoral landscapes largely devoid of human presence. During work in Ostankino, he painted fragments of the mansion’s house and park, but he was most fond of poetic places in the forest or modest countryside. During the late 1870s he often worked in the vicinity of Moscow, and created the special variant of the "landscape of mood", in which the shape and condition of nature are spiritualized, and become carriers of conditions of the human soul (Autumn Day. I am currently on the NYCT Bus Operator list and just curious if anyone can give a detailed run down of the biweekly pay? After taxes for a rookie bus operator.and top pay bus operator biweekly. Bloat is costly, and it’s all of us who have to pick up the tab.Hey guys. Across the metro area, however, more than 70 percent of commuters own cars, while 30 percent take trains or buses.įares on public transit are going to remain a fact of life, but we must demand a more efficient MTA. But even with price controls - like efforts by the MTA to limit the weekly cost of taking transit - it could become a prohibitively expensive prospect, especially for those who don’t qualify for reduced fares.Ī report last year from the state comptroller showed that more commuters in New York City chose public transit over car ownership - which is unique to the city. Mass transit is designed to provide an economic, and environmentally friendly, way of moving people from one point to another in a dense urban and suburban environment. In the meantime, we are the ones who pay - whether it be in fares, tolls or through our taxes. Kathy Hochul has called for the MTA to tighten the purse strings, but no one is expecting much to come of that. The Times blamed those costs on sweetheart deals, limited oversight, and no motivation to control costs. A 2017 investigation by The New York Times revealed that while most transit construction plans cost about $500 million per track mile, for the MTA, those costs range from $1.5 billion to $3.5 billion - up to seven times what they should. Many critics point out that the MTA pays far more for capital projects than it should. Unions say that trains are safer with conductors, but many cities outside the New York metropolitan area use only a single operator on their trains, and their safety statistics are comparable.īut it’s not just payroll. Granted, many New York City lines still use switching technology that’s nearly a century old, but even on lines where conductors aren’t needed, they remain. For example, the agency employs more than 3,000 conductors on subways - the need for whom technology all but eliminates. Yet Empire Center points out that half of the new money to be collected with the upcoming fare hikes will be eaten up by this overtime.Īnd while the MTA works to modernize its system, many of the benefits aren’t being realized. The MTA blames the reliance on overtime on employee shortages caused not just by the coronavirus pandemic, but also by union contracts. ![]() Half of them took home more than $100,000 in overtime, and some actually tripled their salary. A report by the watchdog group Empire Center for Public Policy revealed that more than 1,100 of the MTA’s 70,000 employees collected so much overtime that it doubled their salaries. But more than $1 billion is spent each year on overtime. More than 58 percent of the MTA’s budget is dedicated to labor - salaries, health benefits, pensions and the like. But one thing is clear: If the MTA wants more money from riders and from the state, it should be required to get costs under control. ![]() ![]() That’s a lot of money - by comparison, the state spends just one-tenth that amount on roads each year, although most of the financial burden for maintaining roads and streets falls to local governments. The MTA depends on fares to cover at least a quarter of its nearly $20 billion budget - just under $7 billion. ![]() And let’s not even get started on congestion pricing.Īll of this is necessary, the MTA says, in order to plug a budget deficit of some $600 million, which continues to expand. Everyone else could see those tolls spike by 10 percent. Tolls on bridges and tunnels controlled by the MTA will go up by 6 percent for those with E-ZPass. Subway and bus fares in New York City will climb to $2.90 per trip, and LIRR fares could increase as much as 10 percent.Īnd even if you’re not taking the train or a bus, you could still feel the financial pinch. Riders are returning to mass transit offerings like the Long Island Rail Road - they’re just not doing it as fast as transportation officials say is necessary to keep the system running smoothly, and keep it solvent.īecause of that, in just weeks, fares are being hiked across the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. ![]() 1/22/2024 0 Comments Kitsap county jail roster![]() Visitors are required to dress appropriately, follow all staff instructions, and remain seated during the visit.
